The date for this program has been postponed to Wednesday, 11/6. See below for sign-up slots!
Whoooooo goes there?!
Join CLC and the Berkshire Bird Observatory for a spooky, sensational evening of Saw-whet owl banding at Siegel-Kline Kill. This program will give participants a special look into the world of fall migration bird banding and the lives of secretive Saw-whet owls.
What’s involved: This program will take place after sunset and will involve walking about a quarter-mile along the Meadow Loop Trail over mowed grass. Please come prepared for this program with a light source (flashlight, headlamp, or fully-charged smartphone) to walk safely to the owl banding station.
What to bring: A flashlight or headlamp, a water bottle, and additional warm layers. Bringing a camping chair or blanket to sit on while waiting is highly recommended for this program!
What not to bring: Please, no dogs.
Owl banding shifts:
Shift one – 7:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.
Shift two – 8:45 p.m. – 9:45 p.m.
To join a waitlist for a specific shift, please contact [email protected].
We ask people who attend owl banding to consider donating to the Berkshire Bird Observatory and CLC to support our nonprofit conservation efforts.
