Pollinator Patch Planting Party

Join CLC and The O Zone / Flower Power for this season’s final volunteer work party caring for the Pollinator Patch at Greenport!
This volunteer work party will include replanting the patch with native species that will help local pollinators thrive. In celebration of all the work accomplished so far, this event will be a true party, with a spotted lanternfly piñata (filled with milkweed seeds), and all participants will receive free native seed packets to take home.
Volunteers will leave with new skills related to native plant landscaping and small-scale land management. All are welcome at this fun, friendly volunteer event!
What’s involved: We will be walking to the pollinator patch on the Access for All trail (less than 0.2 miles each way on a flat gravel surface). Jobs may include digging holes and planting native plants, which will involve bending, kneeling, and squatting.
Seating will be available near the work site, and snacks and water will be provided!
What to bring: Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Tools will be provided, but if you have a favorite, bring it along!
