Beginning on January 2, a local logger will be harvesting timber at High Falls.
The timber harvest is part of an ecological restoration, which aims to create a healthy forest.
The harvest is expected to take approximately 3 – 4 weeks. During this time, the Locust Lane trail will be closed. We ask that visitors help us care for this special place by staying alert and giving the loggers lots of room to work by taking alternate trails instead! The following trails will remain open: Waterfall Way, Hemlock Trail, and Agawamuck Trail.

Why harvest timber? The long-term goals of this project include:
- creating a mix of woody and herbaceous plants of different species and age
- reducing the impact of white-tailed deer,
- removing invasive plant species, and
- utilizing useful timber products in trail infrastructure projects on-site and at other CLC properties.
