DESCRIPTION:Become the apple of our eye and lend a hand at this special apple picking party! \nColumbia Land Conservancy is excited to partner with Nine Pin Cider for the third year to create a hard cider from apples harvested in Columbia County. The first apple picking party will take place at PS21: Center for Contemporary Performance! \nLater this year\, the cider produced will compete in the Wild Cider Cup\, a friendly competition between local land trusts to see who made the best brew\, with proceeds from the event benefiting each land trust. CLC placed second last year\, so this year let’s go for the win! \nAll are welcome at this fun\, friendly volunteer event. \nWhat’s involved: We will be walking over varied terrain and off-trail to pick apples and crabapples. \nWhat to bring: Please bring a water bottle\, sunscreen\, and wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Bringing your own tools and a tarp or reusable grocery bag to collect apples is welcome! \nLending a hand for the first time? Join the volunteer email list to learn about other upcoming opportunities and ways to get involved.
