Working Wednesday

Let’s come together and care for the land: forest gardening edition! This Working Wednesday will take place at High Falls.

This work party will focus on planting deer-resistant native plants around the recently completed Levy Lookout and Council Circle! As part of the workshop, volunteers will tour the resurfaced trail and discuss the ongoing High Falls habitat restoration project.

All are welcome to lend a hand at this fun, friendly volunteer event.

What’s involved: This volunteer event will primarily involve planting herbaceous vegetation. Come plant as many or as few as you’d like! To reach the work site, volunteers will travel approximately a half a mile along Locust Lane, which features a forested path with packed earth, bog bridges, exposed roots, and a maximum grade of 15%.

What to bring: Please bring a water bottle, work gloves, and sunscreen, and wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Tools will be provided, and work gloves are available to borrow if needed!

What not to bring: Please, no dogs.
