Damsel Garden Tour

Join CLC President Troy Weldy for a special autumn tour of the beautiful Damsel Garden, led by owner and farmer Denise Pizzini.
Denise will share what it’s like to make a living growing flowers, the story of restoring their farm, the joys and challenges of farming full-time, and their vision for its future. We’ll explore the farm’s history and soil, visit the cutting fields overlooking the Hudson River, peek inside the greenhouses, and walk through the dahlia blooms. If time allows, we’ll also visit the farm’s new pond, which provides irrigation for Damsel Garden and neighboring farms, and important habitat for birds, frogs, insects, and other wildlife. You may even meet some of the neighboring farm’s resident mini Herefords!
Damsel Garden flowers are currently sold at Kinderhook market and through their CSA. They also sell to local businesses and provide buckets of flowers for events. Their goal for next season is to open a farm store.
What’s involved: We will walk roughly half a mile through grassy fields and down laneways. The pond area can be boggy at times.
What to bring: Please bring water, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Good walking shoes or boots are recommended.
What not to bring: Please, no dogs at this event. Thank you for understanding.
