Story hour & scavenger hunt

Let’s take story hour outside! Join CLC and the New Lebanon Library to enjoy the sights and sounds of Hand Hollow.

Gather at the picnic area and listen to story hour. We will be reading a family-friendly, nature-themed book. At the end of the story, the group will head to the trails for a short hike and scavenger hunt. Let’s explore the stream with magnifying glasses and nets, looking for the animals that call the stream home. After our adventure, we’ll have the opportunity to talk about everything we’ve learned together on the hike back from the stream.

What’s involved: We will be walking 0.3 miles from the parking lot to the stream along the Beaver Byway. Trails are packed earth with a typical grade of 5%. Click here to learn more about Hand Hollow.

What to bring: Water, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Magnifying glasses and binoculars will be provided for the scavenger hunt.

What not to bring: Please, no dogs.
