Pollinator meadow exploration with Hawthorne Valley

Join researchers from the Farmscape Ecology Program for an exploration of one of the pollinator fields at Overmountain! This particular meadow was seeded by volunteers in the fall of 2019 on a former corn field.

During this walk, we will investigate several questions, including which native plants were seeded, which native (and non-native) plants are growing in the meadow as it enters its sixth season, and which pollinators visit their flowers. The researchers will also share with participants what they have learned from monitoring vegetation development over the years!
