Land Camp: Forest management, part one

This summer, CLC is hosting a series of programs where participants can learn more about and try land management techniques in a supportive environment so that you can feel comfortable implementing them at home! This series of workshops is ideal for those who are already actively managing their land, those who would like get to started, and those interested in learning more about how CLC manages the properties we care for.

This first workshop at Schor will focus on forest health, forest pests and diseases, and ecological forestry practices, led by speakers Patrick Knapp, CLC Public Lands Manager, and Annabel Roberts-McMichael, Forester and owner of Tend & Gather Forestry. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about healthy forests, and how techniques like timber stand improvements and deer exclosures can positively impact forest stands and climate resiliency.

What’s involved: Attendees can expect to walk half a mile to three-quarters of a mile over mostly flat terrain with exposed roots.

Packing list: Water, weather appropriate clothing and footwear, and a way to take notes (notebook, smart phone).

What not to bring: Please no dogs.
