Land Camp: Build Your Own Rabitat

The popular series is back for its third year!

Join CLC at the newly opened Taghkanic Community Forest to learn how you can turn pesky invasive species like barberry and multiflora rose into bespoke homes for rabbits and other animals. This workshop will introduce attendees to the concept of “kataphygics,” building natural refuges and seasonal micro-shelters that enable organisms to withstand seasonal changes in the weather. We will demonstrate how invasive species can be removed and used for building materials to support native plants and animals.

What’s involved: This event will include walking approximately 0.5-0.75 miles of trail over uneven terrain. At times, the group may walk off-trail to view demonstration sites.

Packing list: Water, weather-appropriate clothing and footwear, and a way to take notes (i.e. notebook, smartphone).

What not to bring: Please, no dogs.
