Community Conversations: Food security and conservation

January 9 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Lime green background with blue text that reads: "Community Conversations" with the CLC vertical logo in black.

Community Conversations is an opportunity to join local experts and community members virtually. This program series addresses important issues, from affordable housing to food insecurity, and their connection to conservation. One-hour Zoom sessions will include brief presentations, time for questions and answers, and the opportunity to connect with others.

This month we will hear from speakers working at the intersection between food security and conservation, Hillary Hawk of Random Harvest and Gwendolyn VanSant of Multicultural BRIDGE.

Meet the speakers:

Hillary Hawk is a founding member of Random Harvest Market, Cafe & Community Space, a worker-owned cooperative in Craryville NY which is committed to creating a more generous, just, and nourished world. She manages the Random Harvest Food Access Fund which provides free groceries to Craryville residents and supports Multicultural BRIDGE’s food distribution to 160 families in the Berkshires. She is a passionate advocate for food justice and loves to uplift and support the amazing BIPOC farms and organizations in our area who are creating access to life-giving food in joyous and powerful ways.

Mark your calendars! The next Community Conversations will take place on: February 6 and March 5.
